How to find the IP address of the NetPassage26G and connect to the Network 802.11gig Pan/Tilt Webcam

Note: The NetPassage26G can work as a wireless device in an existing wireless 802.11b/g Ethernet network, or in a wired Ethernet network by connecting a cable from your LAN to to the NetPassage26G's “WAN” port.  The IP address from the cable connection is used whenever there is a valid connection to the “WAN” port, indicated by the “WAN” LED. The “wireless” mode works only when there is no direct cable connection to the NetPassage26G.

Situation 1--- NetPassage26G working in a wired network with dynamic IP

  • Contact your system administrator or someone who can access the DHCP server in the subnet to check the IP for you.

Situation 2--- NetPassage26G working in a wireless network

Note: Step1 to Step5 are used to locate the IP address of your wireless gateway. If you can get the IP address directly from someone, like system administrator in your company, just ask them for the IP address and start from Step6 directly.

  1. Connect your computer to your existing wireless network (not to the NetPassage26G).

  2. Click the Windows Start menu and select Run on the computer you are working on. The Run dialog is opened.

  3. In the Run Dialog, type COMMAND and press Enter. A window with a command prompt is opened.

  4. At the command prompt, type the following two commands:
    IPCONFIG /release
    IPCONFIG /renew

Note: If you are using Windows 2000 Professional, use /release_all and /renew_all.

  5. A list of network information is displayed. The Default Gateway should be the IP address of the wireless gateway.

  6. In your web browser's address bar, type the IP address you obtained from the previous step and press enter. Your browser should display a configuration page for your gateway or router.

  7. Login using your password.

  8. Click the LAN SETUP link under CONFIGURATION. Your browser should display information similar to the picture shown in below:

  9. Scroll down the display in LAN SETUP until you see ADVANCED DHCP SERVER OPTIONS

  10. Click the Show Active DHCP Leases. Your browser will display all occupied IP addresses in a list.

  11. The IP address for the NetPassage26G should be in the list with WEBCAM as host name.

  12. In your web browser's address bar, type the IP address you obtained from the previous step and press enter. Your browser should connect to your wireless webcam's start page.
